Attached is an example of a Peer Review assignment that might be given in a writing course. This example is more extensive than an in-class conference would be; it includes significant written response to the piece under review. The advantage of a full peer review assignment like this one is that it forces the students not only to read others' papers with an analytical eye but also to practice committing their critiques to written form. Expressing a critique of argument in writing is an essential scholarly and professional task, and this assignment allows students to do so within the disarming context of peer review. Attachments:
